For chocolate lovers:
- ChocoSol Traders offers “bean-to-bar” chocolate with sustainable ingredients.
- Delight Chocolate promises handmade, local, and sustainable chocolate produced by a husband-and-wife team so love is one of the ingredients!
- Coco Crafted Organic Chocolates (and ice cream): Handmade chocolates crafted from organic ingredients.
- The Organic House (in Burlington) promises gluten-free, vegan, no refined sugar, dairy-free, traceable, and ethical chocolate delivered in sustainable packaging.
- Live On Chocolate offers award-winning organic, fair trade, gluten-free, soy-free chocolate.
For petal pushers:
- Eco Flowers has locally grown, pesticide-free, and worker-friendly blooms.
- The Flower Room: Local and fair-trade flowers, both fresh and dried.
- Sweetpea’s focuses on environmentally and socially responsible floral design (they are a closed studio, so phone in advance. No walk-ins.)
- The Chocolate Tulip: Part of the Pick Ontario local program, as well as certifications for any non-local flowers and a promise to “pay it forward.”
- Wilbe Bloomin: An emporium in historic Kensington Market claiming to be “Toronto’s original eco-friendly florist.”
