Check out our list of local Toronto businesses offering flowers and chocolates with the environment (as well as your loved-one) in mind.

As Bluedot’s love letter to you, here’s a round up of chocolate companies and florists that have put thought into how to operate sustainably:

For chocolate lovers:

  • ChocoSol Traders offers “bean-to-bar” chocolate with sustainable ingredients.
  • Delight Chocolate promises handmade, local, and sustainable chocolate produced by a husband-and-wife team so love is one of the ingredients!
  • Coco Crafted Organic Chocolates (and ice cream): Handmade chocolates crafted from organic ingredients.
  • The Organic House (in Burlington) promises gluten-free, vegan, no refined sugar, dairy-free, traceable, and ethical chocolate delivered in sustainable packaging.
  • Live On Chocolate offers award-winning organic, fair trade, gluten-free, soy-free chocolate.

For petal pushers:

  • Eco Flowers has locally grown, pesticide-free, and worker-friendly blooms.
  • The Flower Room: Local and fair-trade flowers, both fresh and dried.
  • Sweetpea’s focuses on environmentally and socially responsible floral design (they are a closed studio, so phone in advance. No walk-ins.)
  • The Chocolate Tulip: Part of the Pick Ontario local program, as well as certifications for any non-local flowers and a promise to “pay it forward.”
  • Wilbe Bloomin: An emporium in historic Kensington Market claiming to be “Toronto’s original eco-friendly florist.”
